SAO PAULO–We usually see Alexander Herchcovitch‘s shows in New York–he’s been showing in the city since the early oughts. But the Sao Paulo native also shows in his hometown, so we got an early look at what we’ll be seeing from him in a few months.
For spring, the always bold designer (remember that football-inspired collection?) sent out a surprisingly subdued, ultra-feminine collection of ladylike silk dresses embroidered and printed with flowers. His color palate may well have been taken from an Easter egg basket. Waists were nipped and tied up in bows. But this is Herchcovitch after all, and the collection stopped short of saccharin. Flouncy silk day dresses got a sporty kick when paired with matching embroidered silk baseball caps, and flashes of poppy livened up the Easter basket. So did the cleavage on display in bustier tops and one-piece swimsuits. Oh, and a lone black dress closed the show.
FOR THE NAILS:

Alexandre Herchcovitch
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012
Alexandre’s spring 2012 collection was prim and proper with fanciful detailing at the waist. Inspired by ’50s silhouettes, Alexandre manipulated both old and new for a timeless yet fresh lineup.
NAILS
Nails took cues from the luminous silk and elaborate beading of the collection. Wanda Ruiz from the CND team designed “Sugar Babe” manicures with white glitter on clear tips. She coated the nails with multiple layers of CND Air Dry Top Coat and fine white sparkles.
Backstage at Alexandre Herchcovitch, Bb.Editorial Stylist Rolando Beauchamp was inspired by the different materials and textures in the collection. He wanted the hair to reflect the clothes with sleek, dry, and perfectly blown out textures.
Styling methods: Wet hair with Prep and add Thickening Hairspray and Styling Creme before drying. Section the top of the head into a square and pull everything else into a low ponytail. Use hairspray on the sides of the head to slick back the hair and create a shiny texture. Blow out the ponytail so it’s soft and straight.
Spray the top of the head with Thickening Hairspray and rough blow dry to create texture. Use a 1-inch curling iron and comb out the hair if necessary for additional texture. Lay the top section over the head and secure to the bungee on the ponytail.

THE LOOKS ARE SUMMER FRESH, SLICKED BACK HAIR, NATURAL BRONZY MAKEUP.
