Here are some great ideas for your nails for New Years! So easy to do! These gems were done by the CND team for Fashion Week. The photos are courtesy of CND. To score these babies this is all you need from any craft store and beauty supply:

1. Gold Leafing

2. Gold Nail Polish

3. Black Nail polish

4. Tweezer

Create your french with gold and black, then top coat the entire nail, while the top coat is still tacky, apply pieces od gold leaf foil in random spots. DO NOT TOP COAT OVER!

For these gorgeous digits, these are much easier to do than they look! All you need is:

1. Micro beads in clear, white and/or irridescent (found in craft store) and bigger pearls usually found in the scrap booking section of craft store

2. Clear or irridescent nail polish

3. opalescent pigment like eye shadow or CND’s new additives

Apply a coat of your nail polish of choice then while wet, dip and roll your nails in the microbeads so they stick on, take your pearls and stick them in the cuticle area using clear polish to adhere them, DO NOT TOP COAT, you want to keep the texture. Then with you pigment, lightly brush some in random spots on the beads that was mixed into a tiny bit of clear polish so it sticks, use an art brush or makeup brush.

Ahhh Seductive & Sexy nails, just add a little fabric of the piece your wearing like lace, fishnet or tool, so easy:

1. Nude polish, (we used CND Putty) you can get that at my friend Angie Wingles website http://goindulge.com

2. Black fishnet (we used very fine material, found in craft store)

3. Fabric glue (craft store)

First, measure out and cut your fabric pieces, place aside, then polish your nails in your color of choice and let dry. top coat, let dry. then using a toothpick apply the glue to the fabric and with a tweezer place the fabric to where you want it on the nail and keep pressing into place until dry, thats it!

Let me know if you want to see more of these posts and definitely if you try any of them!! message me anytime if you need more instructions or if you know of a certain design that you saw and want to know how to do it!

Thanks for reading, Happy New Year!

Creative Nails, Literally, at Fashion Week Christian Siriano, Monique Lhuillier, Rachel Antonoff,& Imitation of Christ

Nails are such an important part of a runway look, especially when the models are doing a presentation.  At Imitation of Christ, I got a quick backstage look at the swirled, press-on nails created by Creative Nail Design  (CND),  inspired by blown glass (see below). Since the models (graceful dancers of different ages) stood in front of mirrors, changing clothes and have “private moments” of reflection (literally) into large, beautiful mirrors, their hands were truly “front and center.”

I’ve also included some of the other nail looks that Creative Nail Design (CND) has featured so far for the Spring 2013 shows.

Degas Delight at Christian Siriano

September 8, 2012 – Today’s runway delivered femme pastels and confectionery-toned delight at Christian Siriano‘s Degas ballerina-inspired fashion show. Nails by CND’s Angi Wingle glimmered with pink thanks to CND Grapefruit Sparkle, a shade from CND’s brand new polish line coming out in Spring 2013. Paired with top knots and luminescent cheekbones, this beauty look was truly en pointe.

      Christian Siriano

At Rachel Antonoff, CND’s Candice Manacchio showed why girls just want to have hedge fun at the country club! Three different nail styles paid tribute to the show’s garden party theme: 1) The “Aerial Nail” portrayed a bird’s eye view of Versailles 2) The “Garden Nail” captured the maze-like quality of the winding hedges in the presentation and 3) Clear tips layered with white and tagged with blue & red Sharpies memorialized the friends and family dearest to the designer. Fun fact: it took the CND nail team over 65 hours to hand-detail 600 tips for this show!

   Versailles  Garden Nail

  Sharpie Style

At Monique Lhuillier, nails were inspired by reflective aquatic movement. CND’sCandice Manacchio created an illuminated, underwater manicure and pedicure usingCND Lavender Pearl Effect mixed with a few drops of brand new CND polish in Lilac Longing (out in Spring 2013). With turquoise and gold eyeshadow, models looked marine marvelous!

Marine Mani

At IMITATION by Tara Subkoff, CND’s Kristina Estabrooks fashioned a “Blown Glass” manicure with swirled and marbleized CND Copper Pearl Effect and CND Colour in Putty. Just as no marbleized nail is alike, the women of this show represented all ages and body types in a reflection on modern day society and female diversity.

The nails of NY Fashion Week! The nail art trends that let you recreate the look of the runway at home

Intricately detailed manicures have gone way beyond rhinestones, crystals and decals — in recent seasons, no designer would think of sending a model down the runway without a signature polish job, specially coordinated to compliment the collection.

A model walks the runway at the Diego Binetti spring 2013 presentation during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Hotel Americano on September 9, 2012 in New York City.

Fashion designers are taking hands-on approach to the manicure.

Nail art, once associated with cheesy decals, has become nail fashion — and no designer would think of sending a model down the runway without a signature polish, specially coordinated to complement the colors and theme of a collection.

LIVE BLOG: MANICURE MANIA! ALL THE NAIL LOOKS AND MORE FROM NY FASHION WEEK

"Nails are the ulimate accessory," said Candice Manacchio, a nail and fashion expert from CND Nails. "They’re just as important as your hair, your makeup, your iPhone case and your shoes for putting together a coordinated look."

Some designers choose to keep it simple — others demand mini-masterpieces.

One particularly gasp-worthy example? The “woven” nails at Rodarte, which wowed its attendees with its “Modern Medieval” theme on Tuesday at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

In order to create the “basket-weave” look, ten CND nail stylists hand painted each nail tip. Next, they painted pieces of wax paper a subtly different color and then sliced them into slivers.

Using tweezers, they wove the strips into a lattice.

Each set has 22 nail tips, to accommodate the varying nail size of each model.

"There were so many left over," said Manacchio. "It was a little heartbreaking after so much work."

Her team spent over 200 hours creating 30 complete sets of nails. That’s 15 minutes per nail.

Designers work with companies like CND, Essie, OPI, Deborah Lippmann and Dashing Diva to create eye-popping manicures with contrasting colors, patterns, textures and dimensions.

Still, doesn’t it seem like a lot of work? After all, aren’t people looking at the clothes, not the makeup?

“The nails are becoming more and more important,” said CND rep Hannah Longman. “The photos of the manicure will be appearing online and in magazines for months. And besides, it’s a piece of the collection that fashion fans can actually imitate at home — for a very small cost.”

The best thing about nail fashion is that you can be as creative or detailed as you want to create a runway look.

miller

Goth nails at the Nicole Miller Spring 2013 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

While it may look like Manacchio used an expensive paintbrush to create the black and silver nails for Nicole Miller, the truth was much more budget-friendly.

"I dipped the edge of a makeup sponge in polish after creating the diamond pattern," she said. "That’s all."

A great place to start? A colorful take on the simple French manicure.

"Seafoam green was huge on the runway," she said. "Why not paint the nail while and create a green tip?  Or vice versa?"

Some designers stepped away from nail art this season, choosing to stick with simple grey pinks and rose shades.

Victoria Beckham, Christian Siriano, Donna Karan and Elie Tahari chose to stick with pale pink and nearly nude polishes.

The nail brand Zoya teamed up with Peter Som, delivering soft shades of pink, lilac, silver, sea green and this season’s signature color: tangerine.

Editors Turn to CND for Expert Advice and Tips!

Hot Off The Presses

June 29, 2012

June/July 2012 Health spotlights CND’s Candice Manacchio as a go-to guru for nail advice. Candice answered one of salon goers’ most burning questions: how to choose the right red for your skin.

(audience reach: 3,390,568)

WHAT DOES YOUR NAIL POLISH SAY ABOUT YOU?!? CHECK OUT BELOW…

hot pink: calling all bombshells

The woman who wears hot-pink nail polish is chic, sexy and bold, says Catherine Baek, education manager at Orly. “To wear this feminine color, you have to be confident because it’s eye-catching and people will notice,” she says.

How to wear it: Rock the sizzling hue on your nails with a neutral or natural shade on your toes to balance the brightness, Baek says.

Get it: Va Va Voom by Orly ($7.50 at OrlyBeauty.com)

yellow: trendsetter in the house

The latest “it” color appeals to super-trendy women who have a unique sense of style. She’s “a little bohemian and a little rocker,” says Ginger Johnson, cofounder of the Ginger + Liz Colour Collection. “Even if you don’t consider yourself a fashion risk-taker, donning a sun-gold yellow nail color is a great way to punch up your look with a bright accent.”

How to wear it: Pair yellow with “cutoff jean shorts, a bias-cut T-shirt, chunky platforms, Jimi Hendrix-inspired jewelry and a smokin’ pair of sunglasses,” Johnson suggests, or team it with your favorite little black dress for nights out.

Get it: Caution! by Ginger + Liz ($12 at GingerAndLiz.com)

coral: you’re ready for summer!

Sporting coral nail polish — the quintessential warm-weather shade — means you love summer, says Jin Soon Choi, owner of the esteemed New York City-based Jin Soon Natural Hand and Foot Spas. “Coral is very feminine, and this woman may be starting a summer fling. She’s happy — or she wants to be happy.”

How to wear it: Coral can be worn dressy or casual. “With a pretty summer dress, coral is so cute,” Choi adds. Bonus: The peachy-pink shade is the perfect pedicure color and flatters all skin tones.

Get it: Meet Me at Sunset by Essie ($8 at Essie.com)

neon green: life of the party

A woman wearing neon green is vivacious, energetic and talkative, says Baek. “She’s up for anything. She has a ‘life is short’ attitude. She’s the life of the party and strikes up conversations with strangers.” This woman probably shuns the corporate environment, Choi adds. “She works in the fashion industry or freelance and therefore likes trendy colors.”

How to wear it: The color is not for everyday — unless you work in a creative field. Try the bold hue on your toes to perk up summer sandals.

Get it: Fresh by Orly, launches in July ($7.50 at OrlyBeauty.com)

off-white: the polish that keeps on wearing

A woman who chooses off-white is classic and confident, says Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics. “She knows what she likes and you can’t change her mind.” This woman does not want to be bothered by chipped nails, so she goes for low-profile colors, salon-owner Choi says.

How to wear it: Warning: Off-white nail polish does not flatter toes — unless you have bronzed feet. Instead, keep it to your nails for the chicest look.

Get it: Marshmallow by Essie ($8 at Essie.com)

light pink: 9 to 5 and beyond

Gals who opt for light pink are feminine and conservative, says Weingarten. “She’s classy and is always dressed right.” This is the perfect color for the career professional, Choi notes. “This woman likes to look perfect, and light pink nails always look very well-groomed.”

How to wear it: To the office, business meetings or cocktails while sporting a tailored dress or suit, ladylike pearls and sparkly baubles.

Get it: Mademoiselle by Essie ($8 at Essie.com)

red: not just for lovers

This universally flattering nail color exudes elegance, power and romance, says Choi, and the woman wearing it wants to attract her man. “This woman is in love. She might be going on a date. She wants to show that she is open-minded and very classy.”

How to Wear It: Red can be worn simultaneously on the nails and toes, Choi says, adding that it’s one of the only shades she likes to match. “It looks very polished and stylish,” she says.

Get it: Russian Roulette by Essie ($8 at Essie.com)

blue: for the young at heart

Sara Liz Pickett, who founded Ginger + Liz along with Johnson, says blue nail polish tells the world you are youthful, fun and willing to try new things. “Blue nail lacquer is very on-trend this season and sends the message to admirers that you are a stylish trendsetter yet down to earth,” she says.

How to wear it: This color will steal the spotlight, so wear it either on your nails or toes, and offset the look with a more subtle color.

Get it: Chase Me by Ginger + Liz ($12 at GingerAndLiz.com)

purple: crossing boundaries

“Many shades of purple are sophisticated and work well for the modern businesswoman, bohemian hipster or casual prepster,” says Johnson. “Try dark purple as an alternative to vampy reds, and brighter purples as alternatives to pinks and corals.”

How to wear it: Wear dark purples for glam nights out and brighter purples for day.

Get it: Who’s the Boss by Ginger + Liz ($12 at GingerAndLiz.com)

BATH & BODY FRAGRENCE MIST: SWEET PEA

So refreshing and a light scent, wasn’t too overwhelming! I like how you can use it for multiple things, I don’t wash my hair every day, so after doing a dry shampoo on my scalp, I sprayed the mist on my hair and it felt and smelled like I just washed my hair, and also it takes the stale smell out of clothes in your closet that you typically don’t wash for  awhile (you know what items) Im not a huge fan of the sweet pea scent, I like more citrus type scents, so if you like sweet scents, you will love this. The packaging is really posh, it looks so pretty on my vanity, definitely would make a great gift!

CHAPSTICK LIP SHIELD 365

I’m a lipgloss fanatic! So I tossed this into my purse for the week to take the place of my usual gloss routine to give it a test drive. Love how moisturizing it was, and kinda had a fruity taste which I like :) best part is the spf 50 and it’s a year round chapstick, it has the moisturizing benefits of chapped winter lips need in the winter and the moisturizing sun block for tanning in the sun. I put this on while I was putting my makeup on to let it prep my lips for my lipstick, this is a definite like in my book!

SALLY HANSEN NAIL POLISH STRIPS

Wasn’t a huge fan, but probably because Im in the nail industry and do designs by hand with nail polish but think this is great for the not so handy in the nail polish department gals! Very easy to apply and fits any nail size. It’s so easy you can do it with your eyes closed! My pattern I received in my Vox Box through Influenster to try was hot pink and black zebra stripe, really cool on the toes!

AVEENO DAILY MOISTURIZING BODY WASH

Love, Love, Love this New wash, smells wonderful, left my skin feeling smooth and silky but not oily or greasy. It has oatmeal in it which is so good for your skin, (see my past post for the oatmeal face mask!) I will definitely buy this in a full size, my fiancé loved how it made my skin feel ;)

SHEER COVER DUO CONCEALER

has 2 colors, the peach corrector which conceals puffy dark circles and has the more yellow concealer to cover redness and blemishes, or, mix the 2 together to cosmetically cover the naturally dullness under eyes type, toss this in your bag and you can spread it thin as foundation when you need touchups after work and your heading out for happy hour with friends. This concealer didn’t crease, and was very moisturizing so i didn’t get that dull dry caky look. even better it’s a mineral makeup. I feel that the price point is a bit high, but, you do get what you pay for, so it depends on how you look at it.

DR SCHOLLS BALL OF FOOT

This little gem was great, i had an event to go to last weekend and wore my heels that usually by the end of the night i want to end up bare foot because my feet are KILLING me! I gave this a shot and WOW, I love how it has a gel like cushion, so I had that comfy padding, normally when your standing for awhile mingling with other people, the balls of your feet are pressing against your shoe against the hard floor and that pressure is what start to make your feet hurt because there is no support between the hard floor and the shoe, not to mention the blood that starts to run to your feet and cause swelling! you get the picture, this padding aloud for that cushion, and didn’t make my toes scrunch , I say every woman need s to own a pair of these babies!

**Disclaimer… I ma not being paid by any of the companies to test their products or to review, I joined influenster and they sent me the products complimentary and in turn i am reviewing and giving my honest opinion for every one else :)
