This antioxidant-rich item does more than brew up a good beverage. See what else tea is capable of!

Today we realize that there are so many different ways to reuse a teabag (other than obviously making another cup). Here are some favorite reuses that you can incorporate into your tea drinking ritual.

1. Relieve your tired eyes

Revitalize tired, achy, or puffy eyes. Soak two tea bags in warm water and place them over your closed eyes for 20 minutes. The tannins in the tea act to reduce puffiness and soothe tired eyes.

2. Under Eye Circles:

Got puffy under eyes that no cream can fix? Do a tea bag compress. The tannin in tea bags has been proven to reduce swelling (baggy under eyes) and discoloration (dark circles). Either put your used tea bag in the fridge or let it cool down for a half hour. Then damp the tea bag over your eyes for 10-15 minutes.

If you’re looking for that extra oomph, try using a caffeinated tea bag. It will reduce the inflammation even more. Green tea bags work best because not only do they have caffeine, but they also contain EGCG (another anti-inflammatory). According to Dermatologist Andrea Kunin, coauthor of the DERMAdoctor Skinstruction Manual, EGCG helps remove under eye fluid buildup (the main culprit for under eye circles and bags). Plus, green tea’s packed with antioxidants. So why not kill two birds with one stone?

3.OUCH! Cool sunburned skin

What can you do when you forget to use sunscreen and have to pay the price with a painful burn? A few wet tea bags applied to the affected skin will take out the sting. This works well for other types of minor burns (i.e., from a teapot or steam iron) too. If the sunburn is too widespread to treat this way, put some tea bags in your bathwater and soak your whole body in the tub.

4.Reduce razor burn

Ouch! Why didn’t you remember to replace that razor blade before you started to shave? To soothe razor burn and relieve painful nicks and cuts, apply a wet tea bag to the affected area. And don’t forget to replace the blade before your next shave.

5. Condition dry hair

To give a natural shine to dry hair, use a quart (liter) of warm, unsweetened tea (freshly brewed or instant) as a final rinse after your regular shampoo.

  • Have a skin-boosting bath. Drop a couple of teabags in the water before you get in the tub. Tea is chock-full of antioxidants, so bathing in it is anti-inflammatory (meaning it calms skin down) and may also have anti-aging benefits.
  • ONE OF MY FAVES!
  • Fix a broken nail. If you don’t have time to get to a salon, teabags provide a great temporary solution. Just tear off a little piece of the bag, wrap it around the tip, and then use topcoat or polish to adhere it. The cloth is extremely thin but also pretty strong, so it’s ideal for holding a nail together.
  • Deodorize stinky armpits and feet. In a pinch, swiping wet teabags under your arms will help neutralize odor, and soaking your feet in tea water made with old teabags is another great stank killer.

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO OTHER THAN HEALTH AND BEAUTY. REALLY USE THESE REMEDIES! NOT JUST TO SAVE $$$$ BUT ALSO TO REALLY HAVE THE BENEFITS INSTEAD OF SPENDING MORE MONEY ON PRICEY ITEMS THAT JUST HAVE A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE TEA INGREDIENT IN THEM!
